Hello, world
Another blog in a sea of these things.
For starters, I’m not 100% sure of the direction this blog will go in. I’ve created similar blogs before, and none of them headed anywhere really, and this might well be the case for this one. Do keep that in mind if you do decide to continue reading.
Why does this blog exist?
I want a place where I could write down my ideas. Or type them down at any rate. A notebook would probably be sufficient for this, but I’m mostly a digital person. I like the convenience of typing things down on my computer, and of having them easily stored and accessible in the future. That doesn’t mean I don’t write stuff down on paper mind you. We can do both. That said, some local files on my computer would be enough for that as well. So why not just do that?
Because I want to share my ideas. Not necessarily with a large number of people. But I want to be able to write them down somewhere people can see them. Where any person can, if they wish, look into my thought process and my conclusions.
I could have feasibly used socially media for this instead. But I’ve grown to dislike social media in the last few years. The algorithms eat away at your attention. They constantly scream for you to let go of whatever thoughts you are shimmering in your head, and look at this new, shiny thing that just popped up. At whatever that intangible force called the algorithm deems that you should look at next. Usually, whatever is gonna stir your emotions the most. Whichever emotions keep you clicking on the next shiny thing. No matter the consequences to us. Fuck that.
I wanted a place where I could write my thoughts, and share them with whoever I want. For myself. Because something inside me wants to share those thoughts. They might not be the smartest, the most brilliant, the best thoughts anyone has thunk, and yet, they’re mine.
They’ll change as I keep writing and living, they always have, and I have no reason to believe they’ll ever cease to do so. Sometimes they change whilst I’m writing. I don’t think that’s a fault of my own; That’s a good part of the reason why I write to begin with. To think, and to grow.
I think that’s good enough, for an introduction. Don’t expect quality, or consistency. Expect some rambles every now and again, possibly. Expect all the flaws of humankind, in text form. As I, am human, whatever that means.
